A distinguished NAAC 'A' Grade rural institution established in 1974, named after the former Prime Minister of India, dedicated to empowering students from rural and underserved backgrounds through quality higher education across Arts, Commerce, and Science.
Founded on 24 January 1974, Indira Gandhi National College stands as a testament to the vision of its founder President, Late Sh. Om Parkash Garg, a man of wisdom and animated social consciousness. The foundation stone was laid by the then Chief Minister of Haryana, Ch. Bansi Lal, after obtaining permission from the then Prime Minister Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi to christen the institution after her name. Located on the Ladwa-Mustafabad road in the serene village of Dhanora, the college was established with a noble philanthropic gesture—the Gram Panchayat of village Dhanora donated 37 acres of land for this educational mission.
The college began functioning in July 1975 with two faculties—Humanities and Commerce—at a makeshift arrangement at Kissan Rest House, Ladwa. The magnificent new building was inaugurated on 30 November 1975 by the then Governor of Haryana, Shri Birendra Narayan Chakraborty.
