Karimganj Law College was established in 1984 through the vision and efforts of a group of dignitaries and legal professionals led by Shree D. N. Bhattacharjee, the then Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj. The first general meeting was held on 12 November 1984 in the Circuit House, Karimganj, where the idea of establishing a law college was crystallized. The institution was initially named Karimganj Law College based on majority opinion after prolonged discussion.
Located on R. K. Mission Road within the municipality area of Karimganj town, the college is affiliated to Assam University, Silchar, and recognized by the Bar Council of India. With a total enrollment of 175 students and a faculty of 7 members, the college offers a focused and supportive learning environment for aspiring legal professionals. The college has been conducting legal awareness programmes and running a legal aid clinic to serve the community.
