About Arya Vidyapeeth College

Arya Vidyapeeth College, established on 29 July 1958, is one of the oldest and most reputed educational institutions in Assam. Founded by the visionary educationist Pandit Giridhar Sarma, the college was established in the erstwhile backward locality of Sarabbhatti, Guwahati, with a noble mission to make education accessible from primary to postgraduate level for all, particularly the underprivileged sections of society.

The college has a spacious 15-acre campus with academic buildings, hostels, residential areas, a sports ground, and an Urban Health Centre. Affiliated to Gauhati University, the institution received NAAC 'A' Grade accreditation in 2016 and was granted Autonomous status by the University Grants Commission in 2022, enabling flexible and innovative academic programmes under the Choice Based Credit System aligned with NEP 2020.
