Established in November 1984, D.S. Government Degree College for Women is a prestigious institution located in Ongole, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. The college was founded thanks to the efforts of late Sri Ponugupati Koteswara Rao, the then MLA of Ongole. It was named after Damacherla Sakkubayamma, wife of Sri Damacharla Anjaneyulu, who generously donated a corpus fund of ₹5 Lakhs for the college's establishment.
The college was granted Autonomous status by UGC, reflecting its commitment to academic innovation and quality education. Affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, the institution offers diverse UG and PG programmes in Arts, Sciences, and Commerce, with a student strength of over 450.
